    The Randonnée draws from the outing and scout boots that emerged in America in the early 1900s, a time when shoemakers were adapting athletic footwear designs for everyday outdoor use. Its distinctive one-piece side panels and low-running lacing system, which trace their roots back to early baseball and football boots, create a secure fit that follows the shape of the foot. For their version, 2 Monkeys paired this historic design with an original last based on the Munson last, resulting in a boot that feels substantial and remarkably natural underfoot.

    Built from nearly 3mm thick Tatsuno Hand Waxed Leather, the Randonnée balances rugged construction with surprising comfort. Each hide is hand-finished with heated wax, a labor-intensive process that enriches the leather’s depth, texture, and character. Over time, the leather develops a richer tone, revealing a warm brown core and the natural markings of the hide beneath.
