  • Description

    Built in the style of a WW2 Type I leather jacket, this jacket is a prime example of Y'2's innovation. Though on its face it might be mistaken for a traditional natural veg-tan leather, this jacket is tanned and dyed solely with fermented persimmon tannins, a highly traditional process with a rich history in Japan. Persimmon dyeing is typical reserved for smaller leather goods due to the instability of the dye; using it on a jacket like this is almost unheard of. 

    Like other veg-tanned leathers, the persimmon dye is light sensitive and will darken as it gets exposed to light, but will darken even faster and more dramatically. The silhouette is intentionally streamlined and minimal, allowing for the material to shine.
